A different world

Well I have to say I am worn out, what with work and home I don’t know if I am coming or going. I am working stupid overtime hours for free because there aren’t enough hours in the day and I can’t get paid because of other stuff ARGHHH!!!

I am the mobile taxi for big monkey who has a fantatsic social life unlike me who is just too shattered to do anything even a bath seams hard work most days. Big monkey is doing fantatsic at syncro swimming and won’t be long before she is in comp’s.

Little monkey is loving school this year but all credit to his new fantstic teacher who is a godsend bless her, unfortunatly he hasn’t done the writing or reading SAT papers as he is way below the rest of his year.

Florida was amazing little monkey was so good the Americans where just so welcoming and the pace of life is so much slower than ours which suited little monkey. We tried so much more stuff and can’t wait to return hopefully xmas 2010.

I can’t believe it is so close to xmas this year I haven’t got a clue what to buy Brindle he is so hard to but for unless of course it is golf related he still is mad about that.

Right time waits for no woman so I’m off for the night shift lol

Well it has been smooth running so far little monkey has settled well with his new class teacher and getting lots of support in class which I am chuffed about. Big monkey has sailed in to school as normal like a dream she is so good bless her. Me well it has been an adventure, new class teacher for me which has been lets say different but good.He has been using his new pen and up to now no major meltdowns after school which has been a godsend.

I can’t believe we go back to Florida in a few weeks I can’t wait, Taco bells, Dennys and Red Lobster yummy yum. I will however come back the size of a beach whale on steriods. I hope the flight is much smoother this time and we don’t have any seating problems as it will just cause mayhem with little monkey. Big monkey is wanting to get an ipod so god help the people on the flight back if she starts singing  she has no angel voice it is more like a cat with its foot stuck in a dogs mouth.

Well it is officially 7 weeks till half term break so I have 7 weeks to save £1500 yeah right think big monkey is deff going to be waiting for her room doing for some time yet she can dream bless her. Then we have Christmas well I have started the Christmas shopping and started to save the voucher money so thats good for me very organised bless me.

Right my bed becons for a while anyway till little monkeys party starts hay ho another night another 2am start.

Well it’s has been several months since my last post and they say time flies. I can’t believe 7 months have flown by it will be Christmas soon again. Well not a lot to report in Little monkey didn’t do too good at the end of year reports academicaly but muddled along socialy. It is so strange little monkey is so good in the holidays but a totally different child at school he is already worried about going back to school. Little monkey is constantly asking how many days to school it’s not school tomorrow is it mummy it is heart breaking.

Our new obsession is time he is totaly taken in by numbers even to the point he says throughout the night it is 2.34 it is 2.35 etc… it is so not funny.

I have been busy this six week holiday decorating little monkeys bedroom, mine and Brindle, cleaning out cupboards and playing the Wii fit which is more important of course.

Big monkey has had a whale of a time at young careers this six week hols and had her ears pierced for her birthday which she has waited so long for bless her. I can’t believe Big monkey will be in year six when we go back and Little monkey in year 3 god I feel so old.

Our Florida hol is coming up fast only 7 weeks left I can’t wait 2 whole weeks without the everyday hassle of school yippeee!!

Right flying off now but will try not to leave it so long next time.

Well with only three weeks left at work Yipee!!!! It suddenly hit me it is nearly Christmas, decided to let the kids put the tree up tom’. I have a new outdoor little blue tree to put up and am more excited then the kids. Bridle has birthday soon the big 30 is getting nearer. I am off to the xmas Panto with my class on Tuesday and the ASD lunch club I have started at school is going great.

Brindles’ new passion is golf so I will no doubt become a golf widdow LOL!!!!!

Bad news on little monkeys IEP review he is behind at lot more than we thought at school he has a terrible pencil grip which they are now going to try to change.Uummm I am thinking that this is not going to work why on earth wasn’t it changed when he was in reception in said of year 2 (current year). We are starting the process of getting him diagnosed for Dyspraxia and taking him to see if he needs coloured lenses for his glasses to help his sensory issues. The fight to get the best for him sure continues as it always will.

Hang out the blinking flags because boy have I done it, now a qualified nursery nurse yippee!!!!! After what I can only say has been a hell of a year working my socks off whilest having little or no sleep with little monkey I recieved my papers on Friday to say I have passed. Of course it have to be celabrated with a glass or 2 of wine and a few nibbles ( 4 bags of crisps actually naughty me ).

Brindle went out with a mate last pm and came home roaring drunk so funny he fell down the stairs, ended up in a heap on big monkeys bedroom floor which had her in fits of laughter then fell on the bed only to be snoring as little monkey was getting up at 1am.

School has been a bit better for little monkey he is managing much better this year so far. Blue and I went to the head to see what is going to happen with the class, which is completely out of control, 4 Autistic children, 3 more with Autisitc tendences, 3 with behaviour problems and 6 more with SEN. Basicly no one seams to be able to control the class which ends up with children climbing on tables, throwing prncils and being kept in a dinner times which we think isn’t fair on little monkey as he isn’t able to do the work set and certainly can’t concentrate in there. Head has said she is getting more TA hours for the class which is about time, going to take the children with Autism out to help build their confendence and social skills again about time and give more training to all staff about Autistic spectrum disorders. We have little monkeys IEP review in Nov’ with the Ed Phyc so will address issues then and if needs be go for the statement. We now know little monkey is bellow the adverage grade in the class achieving P levels 1c in all three areas he should be acieving levels 2C by now and by the end of the year 2A is the adverage for his age yeah right bless him.

Applied for a job working in school 11 hours so fingers crossed, at mo’ working 20.5 hours which is far too much as a temporary TA with a little girl with Autism. I am finding it very hard work but rewarding when we achieve small things at the mo’ we have achieved going to the toilet alone something which we didn’t think would be possible at the start of the year.

Off for a lazy day cleaning up and chilling out.

And it isn’t little monkey for a change LOL!!!! Our beautiful new kitchen has sprung a slow leak behind the ceailing beam in the new wall, and will the kitchen people come and sort it out hell no they have our £6,000 and have made with the wind. mad isn’t a word looks like we are going to have to pay to sort it out then claim through small claims court as if we haven’t enough to deal with in our lives. We thought send the letter from trading standards stating under which act’s they where not forfilling there legal duty and they would come and sort it out this was 3 weeks ago still no joy.

Arghh arghh why bother trying to have a nice house I ask you !!!!!!!!

Recently we Brindle had a week off work and we had some fab days out we visited Knowsley safari park, our local country park and lightwater valley. Although little monkey didn’t go on many things he coped extreamly well with the day out on the whole, queue jumping is a fantstic thing for our kids and save many unessesary tantrum. Tom’ the press are doing a piece on our local Additional needs group showing kids with additional needs can do ‘normal’ things too they are photoing us at the local country park on the speed boats and on the adapted bikes.

Want to say a big well done girlie to Twinkle on loosing the weight well done you go get them missus, and a big hug to a special friend in USA Allure who for some silly reason is missing the UK.

Party time with a ASD group soon a nite away from the kids what a great respite, and with people who understand how special a nite off is WhOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Well it doesn’t seam 2 mins since I last uploaded but grief it was. It is now the school hols and no work it has been fab, big monkey has a new friend and been staying out at her house a lot, which has meant little monkey has been left confused and angry.

Big monkey had her birthday and wanted to visit the cinema to see Harry Potter it was fab well I say fab what I saw of it was fab, 1 child ate too much rubbish and felt sick guess who was left to sort it out!!!! Children do seam to be a lot more forward then when I was a kid, we got them asking for popcorn, sweets, drinks and with little or no manners it made me very cross. Big monkey choose helleys for her pressy and hasn’t been off them since well worth the money.

Little monkey has his birthday on thursday however he is a different kettle of fish he hasn’t asked for anything, and change his mind about what birthday cake he wants 10 times in a day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finish my college course in Sep’ so looking forward to that and as a pressy Brindle bought me a new car well a 1 year old one actually it is fab and big monkey has called her Betty. I decided to start applying for jobs so when I found one I thought was good although I wouldn’t get it I applied. I went fot the interview got the job and turn it down why you ask because it ment getting a childminder as the hours weren’t right little monkey would have been mortified if he had a stranger picking him up so it was a no to the job !!!!(pouts with sad sad face!!!)

Decided to go back to Florida next year so we are having to sacrifice a hol’ this year and a xmas holiday too, first time we won’t have been away for xmas in 10 years.

Got a couple of nights out planned soon and it’s my birthday so will try to get out for that 28 this year the old 30 isn’t that far off I am dreading it don’t ask me why because i don’t know why just am LOL!!!!

Well blow me down what a nightmere of a time we have had lately. Kitchen was changed into a kitchen dinner, and room stripped and re decorated including re plastering, needless to say me and monkeys move out for a while LOL!!

Things when from bad to worse nothing ever goes smoothly of course, add to that little monkey and school and it was the icing on the cake. Little monkeys emotional state has been bad, he hasn’t wanted to go to school and as a result of actions at school reacted when he got home. Me and big monkey have been punch bags verbally abbused, spat at and ignored. Our lovely pediatrition has been a rock she complained to the school which got her a nasty letter back, this prompted me into action to put into words my feelings. We had a big meeting where the Educational Phycologist, Head, outreach, class teacher and us went opinions where stated and strategies have been put into action or they where supose to have been. In words everything sounds great lets just wait to see if this is put into action.

Decided to sell my car and finaly get something newer of course it will need alloys so I know how close to the kerb I am LOL!!!

Got big monkey a LG chocolate phone for her birthday she will be so chuffed it is bloody better then mine.

Right off to watch britains got tallent now it just has to be done

Why is there a need for 2 weeks hol’s at Easter i think it is to test us parents with ASD kids. Oh my patience have been tested little monkey as all but killed big monkey and I am the evil one for basicaly making little monkey eat, get dressed or bathed. Country parks are my new retreat a place where little monkey will actually go even if it costs me a fortune in bread for ducks and ice-cream.

Having 2 weeks off work has been heaven tho’ and no college work this hol’ because I was a good girl and got it done before the hol’s. Had a lovely nite out with close friends Deb’s and Paulie so saved my sanity a bit there. Deb’s being loosing weight and she looks fab think she should stop now coz she looks stunning the way she is now !!
Little monkey has taken to sleeping with three lights on his room, landing and bathroom and started getting up at 12.30am so very tired!!

One thing I will say is thank goodness I have a car and can drive because I would have gone stark raving mad without it even though most of the time we just drive.

Brindle now decided to go back to college and finish his studies so we can eventually emigrate to warmer, more friendly pastures.

Not a lot to update on at the mo’. Went out with some close friends for a birthday meal and may gosh our friend Debs has been weight loosing and boy has she lost weight she looks amazing a totaly different lady so a huge well done to her. College course it taking it toll but with the determination I will get there LOL!!

Little monkey has been bullied at school and we have had to deal with that but to be fair the head leaves in Jully and I don’t think she is really taking issues seriously. We have taking the approach of telling little monkey to now fight back as so much crap has been given out to him and no one has done a bloody thing so desperate measure needed to be taken. I don’t agree with what we have told him but socialy he can’t cope with much more and if it takes him to fight back to get it sorted out then so be it.

I have had a good friend leave our country to return back to her home USA basicaly because our school system sucks she had to put her son first and the USA has much better systems for children with disabilities. A lady off my ASD chat room is taking the country bu storm letting people know how much her and her son had to suffer before the LEA took matters serious and got her son a better education. I have to admit the school system is bad statements are becoming fewer and fewer and schools don’t cater for the special needs of the SEN children. Inclusion is all well and good if the emotional welbeing as well as the academic needs of a child are catered for. We ourselves are going to try to get a statement of special educational needs for little monkey as he can’t write nor read yet and goes into his last year in the infants in Sep although I don’t hold my breath to getting one.

We struggle on with the fact little monkey still doesn’t sleep although the support for us is not good at the moment and sleeping for as little as 4 hours a night is waring thin!!!!

Any way big monkey is enjoying young carers group and getting some time to her self so that is a possitive. She is doing really well at school and swimming lessons and I am so proud of the way she deals with life having to do things only little monkey wants to do she is a truely wonderful little girl.
