How can someone so small take up so much space
Our 3-year old wakes usually once every other night around 2-3 am.
Sometimes it’s very horrid as it seems to be a nightmare that wakes him. He can’t talk yet so isn’t able to tell us what the problem is. So he screams, either until he falls asleep again (maybe 10 minutes) or until he wakes up properly and then needs to be persuaded to go to sleep again (hour or so).
But about half the time he just wakes up quietly, creeps into our room and stages a coup d’etat in our bed. It’s a nice king size bed, but I am continually amazed at the ability of a smallish body to take up so much space. Arms and legs fan out in all directions. The duvet becomes biologically attached to him and ceases to fulfil it’s proper purpose of keeping the two adults warm.
Perhaps we need to buy him a double bed of his own. Would also make a good trampoline.

I did laugh at this and can totally relate to it. We have Tom who comes in first (we believe he was formally trained by the SS because we never feel him come in so can’t be good parents and take him back to his bed to break the habit), then early in the morning Edward needs a feed so comes in then lastly Oliver (about 6am) joins us for the bun fight. Consequence – no duvet, no marital cuddles, lots of struggling and -essentially NO B………. SLEEP!!!!!!!! Edward then gets put back in cot and the other two are sent downstairs for TV but then of course Chris has to go to work and I can’t go back to sleep in case Tom causes mayhem!!! oh well happy days.

P.S. I forgot to say the Chris (hubby) is 6ft 5in and all the children are large (I’m big the other way) so you can imagine the squeeze – I think we may have the better deal than you because no one can splay their legs LOL
